How It Started
Petmoria began with a simple idea, but it became something much more personal through Ginger and Gerrard. They are our two dachshunds, now 11 and 12, still curious, still mischievous, and still finding new ways to cause trouble. What began as a fun concept grew into something rooted in the love we share with the companions who are family.
A few years ago, my wife and I were having lunch outside at a café in Old Town Alexandria when we saw a pet mural on the side of a nearby building. It was beautiful, but all the spots had already been sold. I immediately wanted to do something like that for our dogs. But I'm also a dreamer, and I wanted something bigger. I wanted something lasting... something that could live beyond a single wall or a single place.

That idea became Petmoria... a digital mural where every pet can have a place, one tile at a time. A place to celebrate the companions who fill our homes, shape our routines, make us laugh, drive us crazy, and become part of who we are. Not something temporary. Not something local to just one city. Something permanent. Something global.
It was also important to me that this feel open to everyone. I did not want cost to be the reason someone could not celebrate a pet they love. Petmoria was meant to be something people from anywhere could be part of... simple, meaningful, and open to everyone.
From the beginning, I also knew Petmoria had to give back. Celebrating the pets we love felt incomplete if it did not also help animals still waiting for care, safety, and a home. That is why Petmoria donates 25% of every celebration to animal welfare organizations around the world.
The dream is simple, even if it is a little ambitious. A global mural. Who knows how big it will get, or how far it will go. But it has been fun... and we are still going.
Pet by pet. Tile by tile. Story by story.

Petmoria exists to give people a place to honor that bond in a lasting way. A place to share a photo, tell a story, choose a place on the mural, and celebrate a companion who means so much.
Together, those stories become something bigger... a growing global mural built from love, connection, and care.
And by giving back to animal welfare organizations, we hope that celebration can also help animals still waiting for safety, support, and a home.
